Our Story
At Bonded Companions Dog Training, we believe that understanding a dog’s behavior involves more than just commands. Dogs are complex creatures influenced by their environment, genetics, and individual experiences. That’s why we use the LEGS model—Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self—to guide our approach.
The LEGS Approach
Learning: Every dog has the capacity to learn, and we use positive reinforcement to encourage healthy behaviors while minimizing stress.
Environment: A dog’s surroundings and interactions play a major role in shaping its behavior. We help you create a conducive environment for positive training outcomes.
Genetics: Some behaviors are deeply rooted in a dog’s breed or lineage. Understanding this allows us to work with your dog’s natural tendencies.
Self: Every dog has its own personality and quirks. We embrace your dog’s individuality and develop training plans based on their unique character.
With this approach, we aim to create lasting change that not only addresses surface-level behaviors but also nurtures a healthier, happier dog.
About the Owner/Head Trainer
Hi, I’m the founder and lead trainer at Bonded Companions Dog Training. With over a decade of experience in dog behavior and training, I’ve dedicated my life to understanding dogs and helping their humans build strong, healthy relationships with them.
As a former K9 handler, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of dogs, from working breeds to family pets. My journey in dog training is driven by a passion for science-based, humane methods that foster trust, respect, and effective communication between dogs and their owners.
I hold numerous certifications, I’m also a licensed Family Dog Mediator, helping dogs and their families resolve behavioral challenges in a way that respects the dog’s natural instincts. See some of my studies and achievements below.
At Bonded Companions, I blend my formal training with real-world experience, offering services that range from basic obedience to addressing complex behavioral issues. Whether I’m working with a new puppy or an adult dog, I focus on techniques that are backed by science and tailored to each dog’s unique personality. My goal is to help you build a lifelong bond with your dog—one that is rooted in understanding, patience, and mutual respect.
